After a one-year hiatus, the Clubhouse is back!
This was actually my boss’s idea a couple years ago, in wake of the craze around Web3 (metaverse, virtual wallets, bitcoin, etc.) and as a way to help educate our department. This is maybe the 4th thing she’s assigned me where there’s no details, no direction, and no expectation; she basically said “let Danny cook”.
So it was up to me to create a report from scratch, covering enough material to read-out for 20 minutes in our team meetings. After its initial success I decided hey you know what I bet the rest of our 100+ person marketing team would enjoy reading this (them and the larger listserv I use at work).
Sure enough, it took off, and I became the go-to expert for what I now label emerging media.
This wasn’t intended to drive ROI by any means; it was just a fun thing that I got to do every month. But I realized pretty quickly that it had people’s attention and that they looked forward to it every month. I wrote it in my brand voice, threw in some inside jokes, tongue-in-cheek commentary, and witty slide titles without sacrificing the insights.
